Change Control/DevOps Specialist - RemoteLocation:Remote (US-based)
Teradata is looking for an individual to become a member of the Americas Change Control team. You will work remotely with a team of engineers devoted to providing World Class service in support of Teradata customers located in the Americas region. As a Change Control Specialist, you will perform duties as both a change control coordinator/implementor and as a DevOps specialist, to work on automating change control procedures. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in performing change control services for both hardware and software, as well as working with our automation engineering department. You will provide leadership in the planning stages of installations and upgrades, as well as project coordination during these activities and system support. This position requires 7 X 24 availability and is a salaried position. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to: software, firmware and application upgrades, system analysis, and customer satisfaction, for mission-critical customer support.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrable expertise in OOP languages such as Python (preferred), Java, C++, or comparable
  • Ability to learn and adapt various technologies to solve problems
  • Experience in creating and interacting with RESTful services
  • Hands-on experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQLite, etc,) and SQL
  • Passion for Test Driven Development (TDD) and other modern software development best practices
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methodology
  • Experience in building and/or leveraging distributed systems
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Configuration Management and Deployment Automation tools (Ansible, Vagrant, Puppet, Chef)
  • Source Code Management (Git) and artifact repository management (Artifactory)
  • Build Agents (preferably Jenkins, or TeamCity),
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
Minimum Requirements:
  • US Citizenship
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited 4-year college/university OR equivalent experience
  • Advance knowledge of Teradata systems
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux, UNIX, Windows, Mainframe operating systems (VM/MVS, etc.)
  • Prior experience in a technical customer-facing role
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally on occasion
