  • You will serve as a Mission Planning Systems Engineering Lead(SEL).
  • You will interface directly with the entire development team,starting with the warfighter, and including technicalinvolvement throughout the Mission Planning product developmentcycle.
  • You will gain insight into the aircraft and mission then applythat knowledge in the development and implementation ofefficient warfighting requirements and features.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that all project issues andrisks that could have an impact beyond their specific productrelease are identified, evaluated and appropriately assigned foraction.
  • You will ensure that the approved systems engineering processesare followed, and deviations are approved and documented.
  • You will be responsible for requirements analysis/engineeringanalysis as necessary to resolve product design concerns, humanfactors, product evaluation, and support of product deployment.
  • You will apply analytical, problem solving, and communicationskills in your daily interface with program/project managers,system developers, warfighters, and testers.

Qualifications In addition to meeting the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)Qualifications Standards Manual, your resume must also demonstrateat least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to theGS-09/11 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service orequivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specializedexperience must demonstrate the following: experience in projectengineering. Examples of qualifying experience includes: 1)determining long- and short-term technical direction; 2) planningand scheduling work; 3) applying analytical and problem solvingskills in developing next generation of Mission Planning systems; 4)assisting in resolving product design concerns.

Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements ofthe Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications StandardsManual:
For 08XX series: Successful completion of a professionalengineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead toa bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with atleast one program accredited by the Accreditation Board forEngineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential andintegral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physicsand chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineeringscience or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials(stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d)thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature andproperties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structureto properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamentalengineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soilmechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate theknowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of theposition.
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer inTraining (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by anyState, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals ofEngineering (FE) examination or any other written test required forprofessional registration by an engineering licensure board in thevarious States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico TheFE examination is not administered by the U. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses inthe physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and inengineering that included the courses specified in the basicrequirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fullyacceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering programas described in paragraph A (above)
Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degreein an appropriate scientific field, eg, engineering technology,physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics,hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor'sdegree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least oneyear of professional engineering experience acquired underprofessional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, thereshould be either an established plan of intensive training todevelop professional engineering competence, or several years ofprior professional engineering-type experience, eg, ininterdisciplinary positions.
1310 Basic Requirements: A) Degree: physics; or related degreethat included at least 24 semester hours in physics. OR B)Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to amajor in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plusappropriate experience or additional education.In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamentalcourse in general physics and in addition, courses in any two ofthe following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics,modern physics, and sound.
