Project Controller (Contract)

Location: Bristol Country: UK Rate: £300.00 - £320.00 per day

Role description:

  • This role is supporting the ESN Coverage Assurance and products programme.
  • The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Programme Manager but will be working with project managers and PMO as well as central teams to provide an accurate high-level view of all projects within the Programme.
  • The project controller will support the Programme Manager to drive performance, compliance and a consistent view across governance and reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the PMO office to drive a consistent approach to RAID, driving the PMs to update and report regularly on programme risks.
  • To facilitate and manage weekly RAID logs with the Programme Manager, and to provide regular programme wide reports.
  • Status reporting - extract weekly project status reports from the SharePoint and PMs to create weekly programme packs.
  • Liaise with the Programme Manager on programme reporting.
  • Work with PMs to ensure all governance is adhered to, reporting, finance, gating, product artefacts etc.
  • Facilitate weekly Programme reviews with Programme Manager and team, and record and maintain actions logs from review.
  • Resource forecasting - Extracting key resource information from PMs to produce a programme wide resource profile.
  • Facilitate meetings to review resourcing forecast with Programme Manager, highlighting and escalating and areas of concern.
  • Review and reconcile all time bookings and costs against agreed budget.
  • Facilitate regular budget reviews with both PM's and Programme Manager.
  • Document management - set up and manage SharePoint site, maintain contact lists, org charts and specific project files.
  • Ad hoc admin duties
  • Full support to Programme Manager.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Project Management and governance experience
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Effective communication, attention to detail whilst able to summarise.
  • Management of sharepoint and other supporting systems
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • MS Teams
  • Ability to use initiative and be pro-active.
