An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution and delivery of our business plan, overseeing portfolio monitoring, liaising with various departments, and attending client meetings. This role offers an excellent platform to build existing broker relationships and contribute to strategy planning.

What you'll do:

As an Assistant Underwriter - Professional Indemnity, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing crucial support to our underwriters. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include everything from assisting with the on-boarding of Delegated Authority business to conducting detailed portfolio reviews. You'll also have the opportunity to attend client meetings, contributing your insights and building strong relationships. With your keen eye for detail, you'll ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date, while your commitment to quality will drive you to maintain high standards across all areas of your work.

  • Support Professional Indemnity underwriters in the oversight and monitoring of the portfolio
  • Assist with the on-boarding of Delegated Authority business as requested by Underwriters
  • Liaise with various departments within the organisation to assist in the approval of new and renewal DUA business as required
  • Attend Client meetings as requested by the team
  • Complete quarterly EPI reviews on the Binding Authority and Lineslip element of the book
  • Conduct monthly Underwriting authority reviews of Risk bound bdx
  • Perform potential portfolio review work such as Limit profiling
  • Conduct potential Underwriting files review in conjunction with PI Underwriters
  • Create full audit reports and recommendations
  • Monitor new business pipeline both Open market and DUA

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Assistant Underwriter - Professional Indemnity role will bring a wealth of experience in underwriting or a related field. You'll have a strong understanding of professional indemnity and the ability to conduct detailed portfolio reviews. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to liaise effectively with various departments and clients, while your commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality control will ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. This role requires a proactive approach, with the ability to monitor business pipelines in both open market and DUA.

  • 2 Years of experience in underwriting or a related field
  • Strong understanding of professional indemnity or DUA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with various departments and clients
  • Ability to conduct detailed portfolio reviews and create comprehensive reports
  • Experience in monitoring business pipelines in both open market and DUA
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality control
