An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Underwriter Or Broker to join a leading, diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance company. What you'll do:

As an Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to our client's success by delivering their divisional business plan. You will be responsible for performing underwriting activities in line with all legal and regulatory requirements. Your role will involve recording and measuring insurance risks, including managing delegated underwriting authorities where relevant. Building strong relationships with stakeholders such as customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues will be key to your success. You will also be expected to continually develop your expertise and technical knowledge. Part of your role will also involve reviewing and analysing the portfolio to track progress towards business objectives.

Contribute to the delivery of the divisional business plan, making decisions as appropriate
Perform underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure the recording and measurement of insurance risks, including delegated underwriting authorities (DUA's) where relevant
Establish, develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
Continually develop expertise and technical knowledge through identifying and implementing appropriate learning and development activities
Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress towards business objectives

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Underwriter position brings a wealth of experience from within the insurance industry, particularly within a specialised or complex underwriting area. You should hold a specific professional qualification (CII), although this is not essential. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build effective relationships with various stakeholders. Your negotiation skills will be put to good use when dealing with rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business. A collaborative approach is essential for this role as you'll be working within a team environment. Lastly, your strong analytical skills will be crucial in making data-driven decisions.

At least 5 Years of Experience being within Property.
Specific professional qualification (CII) (preferable)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in team environment
Strong analytical skills using data for decision-making
